Mex Joe, I bought a couple of those fuel sipping match boxes (5) and put one together to drive daily to work. I got several Ford manuals off of EBay and read a good bit about the little Mazda engined/Kia bodied skate before starting to fool with it. If memory serves me the computer cuts out the fuel injectors at maybe 5200? I think I read about that in the factory Ford manual but I searched and found a good bit of info on the web. I will look and see if can find anything in the stuff I have. BTW weld in some good bars on that dirt racer, my fear is hitting a dog with mine and having to be cut out with the jaws of life lol. From what I found doing a search, it looks like a programmer, or stand alone engine management system.

My son has raced the last two years in IMCA sport compact class, the festiva is just not a car that would be competive. Neons or some other dual cam engine is what most run. Cavaliers are what we run 2.2 pushrod motors and have had good luck with or find a early model quad 4 some of them are 180 hp from the factory. If you need more info call me at 402-329-6795. Tom

I echo what Tom said about the power potential of the Festiva, it has none. Some of the festiva gurus put the Mazda 323 engine in them (supposedly a direct fit). For the local dirt track around here in the front wheel drive class Saturns rule! Don Jackson
