Default Trailer based weather stations

Looking at purchasing the Altronic Performaire PC weather station. Does anyone have any recommendations? Looking at software that will text info, so a pager is not needed. A laptop is already used throught a race weekend so that is why the PC weather station seems like the way to go. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks

Sean

Thumbs up Re: Trailer based weather stations

Look at the Alta Lab weather station .
Biondo sells them ,and if you look around the pits ,I think you'll see quite a few of them.
I've had mine for 5 years with no problems, and when you call the company with a question ,they are very supportive and easy to deal with.
If you dont have a prediction program, the one that comes with their unit is quite good, I use it for a backup for Crew Chief Pro ,and it is usually identical in its prediction.

I use the Altronic Performaire PC weather station w/pager. System is very accurate. The nice thing is that it comes with the wind speed and wind direction as standard equipment. The only thing I would purchase is the crew chief pro as a prediction program.

I plan on getting crew chief pro, so I can use the texting instead of a pager. Bob do you have the oxygen sensor option? And are you pleased with the PC based unit?

Thanks

Sean

I am pleased with it. I don't use the O2 sensor option.I got the pager option because with using texting you must have an internet connection to your computor. That means in most cases an air card which could cost lots with roaming charges (especially me being from Canada).

Don't forget you need an internet connection to utilize the text option through crew chief pro. I had instances where my internet would crap out when I'm in the lanes and I would stop receiving texts. Need a good wireless card or a track that provides WiFi.
