69 can run either powerglide or turbo in a small block.

Sometimes you will see a seperate listing for an automatic transmission. When you do that means the automatic was heavier than the manual transmission.

When you see a seperate listing for TH in Chevrolet, that means a TH400. They were heavier than the TH350. The manual transmission, PG, and TH350 all weighed the same therefore there were not seperate listings.

Cool Re: Newbie Question

Run a thm 350 in that car with a small block to start. As you refine your combination, you can try other things. The 400 trans came behind the big block only. Most people have forgone the 400 for the 350 due to size, weight, and the fact it takes more of the engine's power to run one. You're smart to study the classification sheets, the rule book and ask intellegent questions from other class racers. This forum has saved the racing community untold dollars and hours.
