Just wondering, if we will get another new car debut to follow suit with the CJ's debut. Thanks!

I certainly hope to see a Challenger competing soon but, if he does show up without some immediate changes in the Classification Guide he'll only be able to run in Comp, brackets, or as a Funny Car. As far as the NHRA Guide is concerned, the 2008 or 2009 Challenger does not exist and that would preclude it from class racing.

in a earlier post, someone said he will not compete, due to the fact n.h.r.a has not listed the car in the guide,it was to be listed within a week or so of the first post ,

I spoke with Garlits at the PRI show about running our SSSSA races, which he said he would do. He also said he thought the car could be ready sometime in March. Jim

No, Don Garlits will not be racing the Drag Pak Challenger this weekend. No Drag Pak Challengers have been made available to racers yet. Soon!

We keep hearing "soon" soon was supposed to be last year after Indy. Now we have the CJs already out there, and it took them all of a few weeks to get their specifications sorted out! Sounds like someone dropped the ball

What's stopping anyone from making 2009 Challenger they get from the dealer with a 6.1?

Chingr73, I have posted “real hard facts” on what’s going on. The Drag Pak Challengers are being built right now. The rate of build is about 10 cars per month. I’ve been told that the NHRA is on board and the cars will be released soon. The auto industry is faced with some very difficult times and Dodge/Mopar is doing a great job continuing this Drag Pak project. The CJ Mustang is already at the track because it’s very close to a production car. The Drag Pak Challenger on the other hand has many more race only modifications and the NHRA and Mopar need ample time to review and evaluate before final approval. There is a process and it takes time. Soon, trust me!
