Thumbs down All the talk about rules.....

Do we follow them?....... No

I attended 3 national events last year and all three times the person next to me did not have a stack for their generator exhaust.

BB I'll sign any waiver you want just make people have a frickin stack on their generator exhaust so I do not have to breath it all weekend.

I don't have a stack on my generator!

It's a lightweight Honda EU2000i, and I run it on the roof of my camper! Its exhaust is higher than the stacks next to me!

How about the guys with those old rattle trap gens that leave them on all night.
Admittedly I leave my 1000W Honda on till midnight. If anyone is pitted next to me I ask if they are bothered by the noise and I move it and shield it from them.Just common courtesy.

BB, Last year at Joliet a friend of ours notified pit control. They went off on the guy for no stack and the guy had to shut his gen set off untill he had one. This was after everyone from NHRA had left the track. The NHRA official called Joliet security that evening and had him shut it off. The stacks are simple to make. I guess some of these guys with the 100+ thousand dollar rigs cant afford them.
I for one will say something if they dont have one.

Here is my deal, I don't want to be the "prick" you had to park beside for 4 or 5 days. So What I am going to do this year is I am going to buy one from camping world like mine and if you don't have one you can buy the one I have. (for what I paid for it) and if you do not want to do that I will then go to NHRA and get an offical.
I just want to race and have fun but I will not smell deisel generator fumes again this year because we are then no longer having fun.

BB I am not talking about portable ones I am talking about the ones there are rules for.

BB2 This is about as professional and fair as I can be.

BB, I agree 100% with you as I always get a neighbor with no stack or some POS that would wake the dead which of course he must run all nite. Where has the common courtesy gone? I don't have the finest stuff but I do try to be considerate of my neighbors, a quick "is this bothering you" goes a long way. Joe
