Question Pomona Sportsman Televised Coverage

Did anyone get to see the sportsman coverage the other night? I had my DVR set to record it and "NASCAR" dug 40 minutes into it and i only got 20 minutes recorded! I was hoping to see the final between Jimmy and John. I have no idea if they even showed it?

Thumbs down ESPN blows

They did show the sportsman show but it started late as usual. Did we expect anything less from the at jerkoffs at ESPN! What a season Dan Fletcher had!

Yah...same thing happened to me...DVR shut off...nothing but worthless alcohol cars....thnx ESPN. Maybe they could slip the 2 minutes of sportsman coverage a little earlier in the show...save me wearing out my fast forward button.

I asked a guy on youtube to record it, but I guess the delayed show is the reason I haven't seen any videos then?

He recorded the Las Vegas race 2 weeks earlier, so for you who missed out on that one, it can be seen here:

Thanks for the link. I hadn't seen it, and doubly appreciate that it wasn't inclusive of the Alky cars.

Lightbulb Re: Pomona Sportsman Televised Coverage

Now again, I wish for a return of "Diamond P Sports", and their coverage of our great sport...we sure had more coverage there!

I still am enjoying the ALL DAY coverage of the 1996 FRAM/AUTOLITE NATIONALS, that included one of the finest days for Peter Biondo (S/S Winner), and Scotty Richardson (Stk Winner). Steve Mc Farland, you had a 2nd round race where (after your launch) you briefly were headed towards the tree in your (former) '69 Mustang B/S car. I enjoy watching you quickly recover from that, keep the peddle to the metal as you're banging them gears, and chasing your opponent down and getting the round win---you had a pretty darn good race to (making it I recall to the semi's)!!!

Recalling a former thread about what I'd do with a million dollars? I think I'd try real hard to make it more, so I could pursue either an investment in a tv network that would give NHRA reason to break our lack-luster show coverage on ESPN, or by creating a new network that would...we could have an "INSIDE THE NHRA", a "NHRA THIS WEEK", or how about this one "THE SPORTSMAN FOCUS" (a show that would be certain to cover weekly news, weekend results, and national/divisional racing coverage throughout the country...what do you think racers???
