Mark I was looking at your photos of the V/Stockers and could not identify some of the cars. I remember a 1950 Olds Rocket with a 303 automatic that ran a very low class in IHRA a decade or two ago. This car was red and show car quality! The Rocket and the Ford I can identify (lol) but what were the rest. Thanks in advance. (Love them "odd ball" class cars!) Don Jackson

The black Stude @ Indy , is of course, the legendary Chicken Hawk of Ted Harbit. The yellow 50 HT is Newton Wright, from the Cincinnati area . The D&J on the side, was the engine building shop of Dick Weinle, owner of Edgewater Park. The small pic of the 52 HT is the same guy. Rohde is from the Northwest, and I don't know too much about him. The 52 post car is I think, Al Bodnarchuk of the Reg Wood / Bodnarchuk/ Lil Stinker gang. Who else?

I done some searching on Yahoo last night at work and saw some articles on the car. The engine now looks like it came out of a twin turbo rice rocket lol, kinda like painting a beard on the Mona Lisa.

But, it was F-A-S-T, with those hairdryers installed, and getting faster all the time... and, not a light car, by any means...
He was headed for the nines, for sure... What a shame...

For sure a 'hair dryer" will bring a car alive. I still would still rather see a "slow" stocker than a Fast "enhanced" bracket car! Don Jackson
