Converter stall is fine but 211 low is a bit steep. put a taller low gear in it and let it run on the torque further down the track. Also way less volatile on starting line.

Bracket car?
I have a 68 nova that had a mild 400 that ran 11.50 with a 1.76 and tried a 1.96 and all that did was made the car spin on marginal conditons. Car was maybe a tenth faster on a killer track but would not repeat when track whent away(9x30 tire).
