Need a clarification on the shoulder portion of belt attachment. In the book, the text says to see illustration as to how to attach. In my opinion the picture clearly shows a wrap around attachment. I know that some guys wrap and some attach to a tab. I have also seen a bolt through the bar.
Recently, a tech official told a friend of mine that wrap around is NOT correct. Please let me know your experiences, opinions, etc. Thanks. |

I've used both styles, never had an issue in tech with either. I'm sure they wouldn't offer wrap around sets if they weren't an approved method. Basically all the mounting hardware uses wrap around for it's bolt in apps. just wraps around their tab. Joe

I just changed my belts and had my installation checked carefully by the Div 4 tech guys at Memphis.
I used to use the Y-tab shoulder belts which are now illegal so I switched to a wrap type. They individually wrap around the roll bar behind the seat using only the adjusters, no tabs. The tech guys had no problem with the installation except to say that they would like to see something on the bar that would prevent the wrapped belt from sliding laterally along the bar.

I have my belts fed though the two uprights for the headrest and then
wrapped around the cross bar. The uprights of the headrest keeps them from moving side to side.
