Ed, check with Brian on his solution. ....On mine ,I machined a .250" thick, close tolerance spacer to fit between the bearing and the yoke to get enough clearance for a Mark Williams collar. ...Tom

Tom Brian said he bought a new yoke from Mark Williams. I was trying to avoid the 195.00. Guess not. ED

Ed,I used a stock type Spicer 1350 yoke. ....By spacing the yoke away from the seal by about .250" ,you can get enough clearance for a standard width ring....I used a M-W ring for a 28 spline 9" yoke and bored the id. to Dana dia. ,which I think was 2.885" .....I did mine about 10 Years ago cause nobody had a trick yoke back then. ..it's still in the car .. Even moving the yoke out by .250" there is still plenty of engagement on the pinion splines. ......Tom

The M-W std pinion magnet ring is 1.875". as is the M-W billet yoke and the Strange chromemoly yoke. ........One more thing to consider is that the replacement yokesthat accept the collar are .500" longer than the standard Spicer yoke. ....Will you also have to shorten your driveshaft and spend more$ ? Tom.........

I have an aluminum driveshaft I bought used that ended up being about a 1/2" short and I'm changing the gears in my Dana 60 so I guess I can tackle all these issues at once!
Thanks!

Tom Brian at Williams is telling me I won't have to do anything to the driveshaft. I bought the collar from them for the Dana 60 and he said it would fit the new yoke. I may just have my son machine a spacer at work. ED

Sounds like they mayhave some different diminsions than some of the older yokes. ....the Spicer one I have on the old car measured 3'' long ,and the new yokes they offer are shown at 3.500". ....You'll know right away if the collar is against the seal. ....Tom
