Default Div. 3 Stock/Superstock Combo Races

I am attempting to have 4 to 5 races in the area for S/SS cars. Nitro Joe is going to help run the events. National Trails has agreed to 2 dates May 30th and Oct.3rd. Still working on a few others. My question is how many of you that would attent these events, would have a problem allowing Nostalgia SS cars to run with us. I have read that the series, I believe , in Canada allows them and welcomes them. We are looking at allowing them (NSCA legal and no injectors ) to help car count. If you live out of the area and won't be attending please don't respond to this question. We already have 2 sponsors , Parsons & Myers Racing Engines and my business, Jeffs Auto Body. Anyone else would be welcome as well and can contact me or Nitro Joe.

Jeff,
Two years ago we planned on attending an event at Columbus, but were informed that only NHRA inspected cars would be allowed to participate. One of my friends that did attend stated that the guy "teching" the cars in was an *** and gave him (my friend) a large ration of crap because he had IHRA tech stickers on his car. The Tech guy said that National Trail was an NHRA track and all competitors must meet NHRA specs to participate. I guarantee our car will meet or surpass NHRA specs, but refuse to participate at their events due to their treatment of Sportsman racers.
If you can assure us that IHRA approved cars can participate sans the harrassment, we will be there.

Hi Jeff. I'm hopeful of getting a race at either, or both, Dragway 42 and Pittsburgh Raceway Park. I already have events for Numidia Raceway in Numidia PA Aug 2nd at the annual Hagerstown MD race Nov 7-8, there is info in the Tri-State S/SS Association forum. Not sure if many of the diehards would be too keen on running againt Nostalgia S/S cars, since in their current configuration they don't fit any legal S/SS classes. Keep us posted on anything else, as will I.

I just wanted to let you know that October 3rd the weekend of the Doorslammers in Louisville. I also think it would be great to have the Nostalgia SS cars.

It is great that people are taking on the project of having more races for people to run close to home. It is good that Tech will be done to assure following the rules.
Is there any places going to add TOP/STK or JR/STK so that some type of Class racing (Heads Up) can be held instead of all "dial in " format?

Dick, the problem with that is some tracks not having scales and fuel check, and the qualified people to work them. Plus the lack of qualified tech people to know what a car should/shouldn't have. That's the main reason for having no actual qualifying or heads-up runs. I guess if the track had all the stuff to do it, and had someone like Travis, Duane, Terry or someone, it could probably be done. For most of us that do these races/circuits, we like these to be easy, laid back, low pressure, fun races for the racers to compete at.

Roger, wont be a problem at all, the car meets general saftey rules with no problem, so come race!

Dick, main reason is like Mike is talking, we are not going to scale anybody, just come in, dail in and go.
I'm running this on the same deal as my good friend Dave Ley runs his highly secessful ECSSSA. races.
Now, you want to step up and put some $$$$ up, now we can talk.

At the risk of sounding stupid, IHRA and GT stock OK? We are building, slowly a Crate Motor car to get our feet wet again after a long hiatus and are looking for places to run it around IN, IL and Ohio

It would be nice to have a S/SS Race scheduled at Div.3 Kil-Kare in Xenia, Oh.
The UMTR stick shift Assn. ran there last year. If I remember right a couple years
ago Dave Layer & others scheduled S/SS race at Kil-Kare that I believe was rained
out.
