Default Hurricane hits No Problem

We caught 120+-mph wind gusts with a direct hit by hurricane Gustav. The northeast eyewall tore out all of the doors to our buildings, including our walk-in freezer. Tornado damage to trees, lots of fencing laid down. We will be down for the next month making repairs. Scoreboards, grandstands, & buildings survived with damage. Plenty of insurance, and we are continuing to expand our grandstands on shedule. Pictures to follow later.

No damage to the best 1320 feet in the South. Concrete beats wind 100% of the time.

Congrats to Bob Dennis on his #1 job in qualifying, class, and eliminator at Indy.

Still bouncing around in the storm....

I'm glad to hear that there doesn't seem to be major damage to No Problem Raceway, because I was just checking Mapquest and figuring how far away the track is from my home in Florida and planning on how much money it will cost me to come to the Cajun Sportsnationals in '09. I was thinking of either running S/ST at the Southern Nationals, or going there for your race. Everyone I have talked to that has been to the Cajun Sportsnationals tells me it is the race to go to, and an experience you will never forget.

Hope all you racers in the La. area affected by the hurricane are safe.

Choice is easy! No Problem is a great place and the hospitality can't be beat.

I'm not up on my Bayou laws but is drinking in public legal the whole state? The time i'd been to NPR the gas station down the road towards Donaldsonville had two huge ice chests in the store with 24oz cans of Bud... two for 99 cents. That's almost free! People were guzzling while pumping their gas, something i've never seen up this way. I enjoyed that area and am glad it hasn't all washed out to sea.

Pat, Glad to hear you're OK and the track survived. Has anyone heard from "The
Country Dog" and or "Puppy" I hope they're OK.

Pat,

When I saw where the hurricane was hitting, I was quite worried about your track (and of course, the rest of the people in LA). I'm glad to hear you came out relatively unscathed.

Hey Pat,
Hope to make the Sports 09, missed this year, but then again I missed a lot of racing this year. Glad to hear everyone is ok, all else can be fixed. BTW, did the bar survive? See ya next year, good luck.
