Ive got a new set of Strange axles for my stocker. Went to install the bearings they supplied and they dont want to press on. Measured the axle and it is 1.563.od. The inside of the bearing is 1.525. My old axles measure 1.533od. Any body else had this problem?

Lyn,
Sounds like the sent the wrong bearings, or the wrong axles, or both. I have pressed plenty of them on for customers and they generally only have a few thousanths interference fit. Probably need to call them first thing Monday AM ![]()

Lyn,The 1.563 is a common dimension for a 35 spline axle , and some 33 splines also. ... Gm, Ford, and Mopar all use it on some axles....The 1.532" dim. is common to Ford ,33 spline ,small bearing housings and some GM. ......As for the 1.525" id on the new bearing, I have no references to that diameter.........If the brg. dia. is different, I'd also check the dimension from the outside of the flange to the bearing shoulde ras well, to make sure it is correct. ....You may just have gotten a mispackaged set of bearings, hopefully. .........Tom

thanks for the replys. Contacted Strange today, and they told me the axle dia. had been enlarged to make them stronger but they must have forgot to tell the guy boxing up the c clip eliminators about the change.
