Default good job homer and brandon

Homer Carty and Brandon Peterson were at Piedmont running TOP, yes with their bottom bulb setup and went rounds. Neither were in the buy back round and I'm not sure how many rounds they won they were there and Brandon was running both classes. We got to the track at 7am got it dry and started scraping the rubber off, at 1030 it started misting but our staff at Piedmont worked all day and we got the race in. Every weather station said on Saturday night the sun would be out by 11am and at 7 it wasnt raining. The track must be dry to scrape it which we did but we NEVER saw sun. For the racers that were there, Scott Macy as well we appreciate you guys showing up and supporting us. Our combos will start in May and we are running 6 races with a nice points fund at the end. More details at Rockingham, be looking for me to have a flier or maybe everyone's race track mom Anne Flynt will have some as well.

Last rumor I heard straight from the source was that 1/4 mile was a serious possibility but for bikes only, as there would be enough shut down available for them but not for cars as they're obviously heavier and needed longer to slow down. That was using property that Piedmont owned though at that time, so if I'm understanding this correctly, you're hinting that you guys might be buying some property?

And if you go 1/4 mile is there any National Event potential?? That would be a ray of sunshine in my day

Interesting! Would be nice to have another National Event close to home. Cant wait to hear about the 6 race points series. Something else we pay be able to chase this year.

I can tell you this, I have a guy who name is Johnny Seay and he is the best when it comes to taking care of the race track. Johnny and myself talked late Saturday to get a gameplan for Sunday. We have figured a few things out to get a cold racetrack to work as well as a 130 degree track. I will say that the track operators to the best working tracks out there have been very open about what makes their track work. The funny thing is what works at one place doesnt work at others due to humidity, direct sunlight etc. In a perfect world we could have a 65 degree day with direct sun on the track and a 5 mph tailwind, oh wait a 30 mph tail wind for just one session. Johnny spends about 20 hours a week on the track and every decision is made we keep up with weather conditions, track temp etc. We had a 2 hour rain delay, a jr crash, a car break an axle, 150 cars and finished in 6 hours with one class getting 3 time runs. My crew is the best in drag racing with Kevin Shipmon as race director, Jimmy Roundtree in the lanes and Sis Williams on the computer. I hope to see you guys there and even my brother rode the tractor for 3 hours Sunday running the blower.

Herb Jr

we burnt 35 gallons of gas/diesel Sunday in the tractors, blowers etc.
