My brother and I are going to run a K/SA Chevelle Wagon. The car currently has a 6 point cage made of mild steel. We don't like the way it was put in and the way it was welded in was marginal at best.
We would like to replace the current cage with a 6 point chrome moly unit and my question is what do you guys think is a fair price for material and installation? |

We usually charge around $850 for a 6 point and $1600 for a 10point in moly depending on the application.

Forget the price, look at Woodro's car. After walking away from a roll over you will be glad you paid over a grand for a good cage. Its the person who says that wont happen to me that gets hurt when a mis-hap happens and it dose not have to be your fault either. Good place to spend a few extra bucks.

S&W makes a real good kit, had one in my old car, hoop fit perfect and very little trimming on the bars

Woodro, Even better. People shouldnt be popping off the belts or removing the helmet in the lights anymore either....When you are stopped on the return road at the scales is a great time to remove the safety equipment....

I get 150 a point for D.O.M. mild steal custom bent per point, and 250 for chrome moly, also custom bent per point.

Just had Pat Kronenbitter at PK Race Cars in the Columbus, Ohio area put a moly bar with a swingout side bar in my 'Cuda. Cost was $1200. Top notch work with a way cool side bar install.

Thanks to all who replied. My brother and I are relatively new to the stock eliminator ranks and just wanted to get an idea of the cost to get a baseline, money is not and will not be an issue with the new roll bar. By no means are we going to skimp on the price for a safety item that is so vital. That is why we wanted to replace it in the first place. The bar notches were cut irregular, the interface to the frame was poorly aligned, and the welds were terrible. I told my brother just by looking at it made me very uncomfortable. I don't want to have the roof cave in on me or get speared by a dislodged bar if something really were to happen. Thanks again guys.
