I ran my car two weeks ago. I just got back home and my car has some oil on the floor from a rear seal leak. (Its always done that) My question is the oil on the floor is a milky/white color. It has been raining and is very humid here the past few days. My shop is not sealed off by no means. My car has alot of condensation on the oil pan and other parts. I pulled the valve covers and the rockers and everything seem to be normal. There is no white/milky film on anything. When I pulled the drain plug the oil doesn't have a white/milky film to it but it has a green tint to it. It's hard to explain over the computer. It doesn't smell like racing fuel. It just doesn't look right to me. I don't want to do anything stupid with this engine. If I hurt it im done for along time. Thanks.

taste it...if it's sweet it has antifreeze in it. Dad dose this...he taste's everything(i know i left that wide open) any way rub a little bit between your finger & taste it ..like I said if it's sweet @ all is has antifreeze in it. One other thing...how hot dose your car get? if it dosen't get over 160 degrees it will not evaporate an fuel that might pass the rings @ start-up.

I don't run antifreeze. My car normally never runs above 180 at any time. ED

Ed,
Here's a couple of things to try ; Drain the oil and replace the filter and save together... Put in new oil and filter.. Make sure you go back and retighten ever nut and bolt you can get at... Take real good look at the old oil, try alittle bit into a small glass jar..Shake it well and see what kind of coating or film it leaves and heat it see if the color changes..Last have someone test it to see what you may have in there... I take it this is a new engine, how many runs? Do they or you use a additive for cam or engine break-in...Last is how did it run and keep a close eye on the oil and change it more often... good luck and give us an update.. Dave,

i have seen this as well, if the garage is still humid from a rain or humid day and throw some heat turned on to warm up the garage the condensation drops on the oil pan will mix with the oil dripping off will mix like that also,i donot have the heat in my garage on all of the time,(kerosine is 3.80 a gallon) cold to hot makes everything sweat
i had the same thing i was ready to pull the motor thinking cracked a main artery,if not convinced let the motor sit maybe throw the presure tester on it and see if you notice any water disappearing ,loosen the drain plug the water will come out first and leak thru the treads of the loose plug i good luck gmonde |

Thanks guys I had the oil tested today and its fine(trace amount of fuel). Bret (Voges) said it was the fuel that change the color. I'm going to change it anyway. My son has been on my a-- all week to run the nationals in San Antonio this weekend. Although im tapped on the cash side it looks as though we will be there. Cash contributions can be made at my trailer. ED
