Bracket car to crate motor stocker build
So here's my old rusty junk that's been parked since 1997 because I blew up the motor, had my first kid, was posted and bought a house..BUSY SUMMER! LOL!
Can't believe it last raced in '97...but the oldest is 16 now! If I can find a 79 nose/heads and intake I will build it as a 302 2bbl U/SA, in the mean time I have finally accumulated all the parts now to build it as a K/CM or L/CM. This is what I'm starting with; SanAir...good times.. Still on the dash after 16 years as I left it; Roll bars are ready to go in...when I get to it, made and painted 2 years ago Coming apart And the latest purchase to haul it and the kids junior, 44ft of motorhome I'll update as I go, hoods at work in the sandblaster and the fenders are next. Gotta get my engine lift back from a buddy too... Last edited by goinbroke2; 11-09-2013 at 02:53 PM. Reason: Wade showed me how to post pic's properly LOL! |

Re: Bracket car to crate motor stocker build
Goinbroke2, you can load your photos, so that they can be viewed without going to another page by clicking on the tag under sharing marked "IMG", it will turn yellow....then right click and choose "copy"...then back to this thread...right click and choose "paste". It will show here in 3-4 lines and be underlined in red...and that's it....you can hit preview and see it as it will appear. It should'nt require someone to go to your photobucket page to see your photos, unless of course....you just like it that way LOL Anyway good luck with the project, and keep up the project information here.

Re: Bracket car to crate motor stocker build
Thanks Wade, I changed it.
For a name I was thinking "Project lipstick on a pig"? LOL! I see rust free cars covered in dust in barns down south and then look at this and go...what the heck am I thinking? It'll never get a best appearing or best engineered award, but it will get on the track with the absolute minimal amount of money spent. (no I'm not frugal, I'm plain cheap) |

You just do the best you can, to the ability that you have. You will enjoy winning so much more when you build it yourself

That looks a lot better than some of the stuff I've started with! I think you're under estimating it lol Be happy to see another car join us!

Re: Bracket car to crate motor stocker build
Yeah when I seen Ken Packum's (vince Hazel's) wagon for sale a few years back I REALLY chewed back and forth on it. It was an awesome deal (what $4000 or something she had it for?) but I just couldn't buy/race a dodge. Beautiful car, U/SA 273 wagon and a former record holder..but I just couldn't.
Oh well, I'll keep slogging away at this until I learn better. |

For those who don't know the car, here is when Vince owned it;

Great to see a Maritime build thread! I will follow this one for sure. The ACSSA just keeps getting better every year.

x2! Well said, Wade.... Goinbroke2, good luck with the 'Stang! It dont have to be a show winner, to be fun... My cars are a long way from that, for sure.
