paint help
am buying old mod prod car has 1972 custom lacquer paint with clear. clear is cracked to hell can i save custom paint under toasted clear.

If the finish is in fact acrylic lacquer you would have to "melt" the clear to fill in the cracking or crow's feet and that's near impossible. If you try to coat over the cracked clear it will just magnify the problem.
I suggest you take as many pictures of the paint scheme as you feel is necessary , strip the old finish, and start over with a premium product. Good Luck with your project. sscuda. |
