Can anybody tell me how much E.T. difference to expect in going to a 10" rim? 1991 Camaro I/SA. Trying to figure out if it is worth the dollars involved or if there is any other advantages if not E.T., tire wear or car reaction or?? Thanks J.R.

Interesting minds want to know...??? I have both rims, but have not really studied it and never back to backed it. Never had time or two sets of good tires at once.
thanks Ken |

"Interesting minds want to know...???"
That makes 3 of us!! Currently have 18209's on 8" wheels, and have been wondering if the $$$ to upgrade 10" is worth the expense.

I've always heard that a wider rim will allow a little more air pressure while maintaining a flatter footprint. More air also reduces sidewall flex a bit which would help them last longer.
A narrower rim tends to allow a tire to "grow", but that wouldn't be as much of a factor with radials since they don't grow anywhere near as much as a bias ply slick. I saw that most stockers use 10" rims with 9" slicks, so that's what I've always run, with bias ply at first and radials ever since.

Me four.I have been using 8 1/2" rims on 9 " tires(stick car) for 15 years or so.Just wondering if the "wider" rims are worth it???
