Default early MOPAR W-2 heads

Does anyone out there have any info on these heads? I think they are from the 70's. Are they any good for use in superstock? They have a part#. I am grateful for any information that anyone has to offer, Thanks, Frank

My guess would be they were never legal for SS. Modified classes only maybe.

I'm sure somebody on here will know the history.

Those look like the early ones that didn't use the stock shaft rockers. Good for their day. Probably still good for a street car or bracket car.

While they are technically legal for the SS/Modified classes they don't flow enough for that and as noted porting them can easily lead to reducing the heads to Junk. Also as noted these are fine for street or brackets, I ran a set in Super Street years ago and have them in the shop (had them listed on here for sale ) but nobody stepped forward so they are for a future "project"....back in the day they were referred to as the "Econo" head.

Thank you all for your information, I thought this would be the place to get good honest information. I always enjoy reading the wisdom of you guys that contribute. If BOW FROG is looking I would like to talk to you about the B/Dragster combo that you ran. Thanks, Frank
