Playing favorites when there was obvious cheating took the wind out of its sails. When the field is equal the cream rises to the top (PS) but teams would be crazy to continue if they enforce rules inconsistently.

Cost. Just a more expensive FSS car. You would have to be very wealthy person to be able to field a competitive Factory X car. Cost to run one is similar to Pro Stock. Like someone else said. Wrong time. No sponsors interested.

I was really excited when Factory X was first talked about, early photos of cars and people probably being involved. And now - I really DON'T CARE anymore, sorry. Like Troy said - Too late to the show.

I honestly thought Factory X would become the next Pro Stock. That would of been So Cool.

I think they went too far on the rules in F/X. If they would have made 5 speeds mandatory, as large a tire as will fit in the wheel well, which I believe is a 10 1/2 wide tire, based on the S/S cars that didn't want to tub them, and allowed them a 400 or 500 lb. weight reduction. To get a COPO to 3500
takes a lot of ballast, I know, I have one that has to weigh 3575. Those 3 changes would have gotten a feel for interest in the class. Then, and only
then you could go further with more changes. All it did was water down F/SS, so now there are 2 under populated classes. And the the chassis from Jerry Haas costs more than a Pro Stocker. Crazy.
