Default What's your experience with Roller Lifters in Stock?

So lets say someone is thinking of changing cars into a Stock class where Roller Lifters are legal. I would like to hear if the grass is greener in Roller Lifter land.

-What is your lifter program? Rebuild after X passes? Replace after Y passes?
-Have you had a lifter problem? What happened when you did?
-What is your Valve Spring program? How long do they last before you need to change them?
-Tell us the "good", tell us the "bad"
-Tell us what you "love", tell us what you "hate"
-If you have experience with Flat Tappets what is your opinion on maintenance costs between Rollers and Flat?

Wondering the same thing. Im helping a friend pick a stock class and he wants to run a combo that would run flats but i would rather run the roller and maintenance is a factor. A 305 in a 3rd gen Camaro is what he is wanting.

I've not an Stock, but have ran both solid and hydraulic roller lifters, and will never run another flat tappet in my life. And if I understand the rules correctly, any combo that comes with a hydraulic roller, is allowed a solid roller. Don't see how it could get any better than that......

Original post was about pros/cons, flat tappet combos versus roller combos.
No horse involved.

In the Gen 3 Hemi the keyed roller lifters have done very well. They valve train stayed adjusted. The rollers have bushings in them and when checked last time out they showed very little ware.
