I am changing the cam in my 327/275/295 motor in a 67 camaro. Changing from a stick to a powerglide.
The cam I took out is a bullet 276-285 duration on a 107 lobe center. Cam was installed with intake lobe degreed at 103. The cam I am installing is a older comp cam. These are the numbers scribed on it. 2233S/2236S R5 2999A 06063-08 It has 272-276 duration and I believe 105 lobe center. I will verify when degreeing in. Question is I have no cam card with timing events and not sure where to install at. Cam was used in same 327 combo. but with a auto. Any recommendations on where to degree intake lobe at? |

My cam card from Comp cams faded. And recently I needed some info off it that I couldn’t quite read. I called them. Gave them the grind numbers. And they told me what I needed to know. He mentioned I could do it on their website. I guess you can actually get the cam card and print it was my understanding. Out of curiosity. I looked later and tried to find it. But gave up because I had what I needed. But he said it was there. Just a heads up. I waited on hold for 47 minutes as they were very busy the day I called.

Thank you, I looked and could not find that. Thanks!
I had this cam on a cam doctor but did not trust the numbers as the cam doctor had not been calibrated and looked, well, little rough! And the operator..... Shows 274-280 duration. I will be spinning this over and checking. Chart shows .166@106 tdc intake and .178@106 exhaust. Not sure I follow what that means. |

I had to drive about a hour and a half one day. I just plugged my phone into my truck. And started driving. Figured it was better than sitting in the house waiting fir them to get to me. I will say. They are always very helpful and polite when I call. So waiting isn’t so bad. They can’t help it they are good and busy. |

I believe those TDC values are only good when the lobe is used as an intake. If you have the files from the cam doctor you can use those to see actual lobe shape. Many of the comp lobe are not symmetrical when you get down on the closing side. Stan |

Instead of calling them , if you email the info to the Tech Dept , you will get a message back within a day or two .
