Default weak valve spring ?

I think I know but. 305 Chevy, What will a weak or broken spring feel like ? I'm losing rpm at about 6500, the motor sounds like a blurb... have good fuel volume .5 liter per 5 sec. , and psi. 5-7.

How high do you rev this 305? Have you pulled the valve covers yet?

At times its been 7200 at the finish but I have been running 1/8 mile so I short shift. But with a 1/4 race coming up I legged it out and it falls off. M/SA. covers off , no broken springs.

Best bet is to test them and remove all doubt.
