I had a "Step Grandmother" that was a welder in the ship yards and turned nurse in WW11. Before she passed on I had an interesting conversation with her about the one thing that impressed her the most in her life. She was born at the turn of the century. Think of all she witnessed in her lifetime. Outdoor Plumbing to indoor. First flight to man on the moon. Horse & buggy to Cars & Trucks.. Hiway system and Roads as well as Electricity..Yet she said the one thing that impressed her most was the fall of the Berlin wall. It took me a while to understand why this lady was impressed by that event. She had seen War all her life. WW1 & 2, Korea and Vietnam. She had a fear of World nuclear War and the Berlin Wall was the symbol of peace between east and west. RIP Mother Mary.

These were amazing women that did amazing things, from the women who flew planes from the factories to the bases throughout the US to even my grandmother who assembled rubber gas tanks for fighter aircraft at the B.F. Goodrich plant in Los Angeles. They stepped up in the time of need and showed us all that women are more than capable of doing any job assigned.

My Mom work at Blue Bonnet Ordinance Plant in South East Texas while
my father served as Sgt in Army during the duration of WW II. We could learn many lessons from that now long gone Generation!
