I've installed the Global West lower control arm bushing for the 4th gen firebird, the instructions they provide says to weld them into the control arm. Is this more of a CYA liability thing or do I need to get them welded? Would the control arm actually move on the bushing?

I installed Global West Bushings on my 67 Nova. I had to press all of the bushing in, they all fit pretty tight. I didn't think they needed to be welded. If they needed to be welded I would have only tack them in a couple of places not a full pen weld. Plus in your case they may be in certain places where Global West have found out from custormers they may have had problems and the fix was to weld the bushing in place. In my case the bushings were press fit and I was satisfied with all the parts I bought from them. Kenney Kelley

Don't think it's any kind of liability thing. Probably trying to insure that the bushing does not spin in the control arm. Three equal .500" long shots of TIG weld should suffice.

Mine fit snug but I tacked them in place just to make sure they didn't move.
Are you looking for a shop to do the work or align it after the install?

I found a fabricator right around the corner from my place to weld it, who knew. I will eventually need a shop to align the front end.
