Default 69 camaro rag joint

Anybody have a idea what's going on here??
Is there a length difference in columns power to manual?

You should be able to gently tap the column flange into place. It slides out, and fasten with the 5/16NF & 3/8NF hex nuts and bolts along with the reinforcement washers supplied with the rag joint when purchased. MB

Tried that with no luck. Is it possible to slide the whole column down?

I have another column floating around. I'll check if that flange will slide out.

I will post everything in my build thread but it's been a challenge to get the steering situated

It is a camaro manual box.

I found some measurements online and it looks like the column shaft is pushed in about 1/4".

When I switched over to a manual box from another Camaro, I believe I had to change the rag joint. But I dont recall a gap.

From rockauto.com:

LARES 200 New; 3.25" OD Info
For 3/4" 25 spline input shafts with flat and 3-1/4" OD steering coupling assembly.

LARES 201 New; For 13/16" 31 spline input shafts with flat and 3-1/4" OD coupler. Info

LARES 202 New; For 3/4" 36 spline full round input shafts with 3-1/4" OD coupler. Info

Thanks for all this information . I didn't know the difference was in the rag joint . I have always gotten a manual box with the joint on it , so everything fit .
