on a 2009 Chev truck 5.3 is it possible to use a cast iron block, what mods do I have to do . Its for my Tow vehicle .

Should be able to swap over,just have to make sure other block is same,has place for same sensors etc.,that would most likely be only thing that would be different

Yep. Exactly what Mike said. Just make sure it's the same generation block for sensor locations.

Displacement on demand would have to be disabled if it was an older block and it has to have the timing chain gear with provision for cam sensor on the timing cover. Also, you have to make sure you have the correct reluctor wheel on the crankshaft which is 58x not the older 24x style.
