Hello everyone, new to the forum but been running stock for about 10 years now, a I have a corvette I'm building with a bunch of leftover parts I've acquired over the years of racing and upgrading. My starting point is a 1978 chassis but It's gonna be a 1980 K/SA corvette 305 engine 200 trans car cause I'm updating the Malibu with all new this winter.. The current combo I have does a 1.58 60' on 5.13 gears now the million dollar question is the rear end, I know it's been answered before but also they are running bigger engines, I want to find the cost/reliability fine line while staying legal obviously, I may in the future step up to the 2.92 first gear in the trans but for now sticking with the outdated 2.76 (at least for a season or two) thank you to any info/help that can be provided and keep in mind I'm looking for what's needed not on who can do it.. Common sense, cars are costly to build lol but the more I can save the more I can be able to go out and race

Call Jimmy Parker...he's the man on Corvettes and can share your best approach. Can PM his contact info if needed. BTW his current Vette was for sale at a very reasonable price, perhaps it still is available and you'd be way ahead compared to building one yourself.
