Default Hurst 3 Speed Shifter For Metric Forward Pattern

To my knowledge I have never seen a Hurst shifter used for a forward pattern 3 speed especially a metric 200 application.......I know Turbo Action is the most used I have ever seen, but is there a defect or complication with a Hurst 3 speed for a metric three speed ????

It's very easy when making 2-3 shift to go all the way into neutral. They work fine with a reverse pattern.

I run a Hurst quarterstick with a forward pattern Ford C4 without any issues.

Does the shifter not stop at a "bump" or "stop" gate or do you actually "place" it in 2-3 and actually push it past 3 by accident ???

I use the TurboAction in the Camaro with a metric, but considering changing it out for a PPP shifter soon.

Do I read into that you have to "squeeze" the lever handle to make 2-3 ???

Yes, mine is that way and you can shift past 3rd and into neutral. There is no detent in the shifter to stop it from doing that.

When shifting from 1 to 2 you just move the lever to the positive stop. When shifting 2 to 3 you squeeze the handle and move to the positive stop. If the driver does not pay attention and keep the handle squeezed through the 2 to 3 shift it could go to neutral. The handle being squeezed is what allows the lever to move to 3 and provide the positive stop.
