Are my radials ruined?

Got the new Mickey pro bracket radials and had them mounted to an old set of weld pro stars that had screws in them. Left them to be mounted and balanced and told the guy to ditch the screws. I left them overnight and when he got to them the next day he used the screws. Should I take them out? Leave them in? Swore I read somewhere to never use screws on radials.

Can't see them being ruined Bobby, but I would pull the screws. I plan on using an old set of Welds myself that had been pinned from the backside...sans the screws.

Take them out ...The SW on radials do not absorb like a slick. It puts more strain on the bead and screws. If the screw breaks and tire slips it will tear the cords out on the bead... Glue them instead...

Should be a non-issue. The very worse that could have happened was if the screws were long enough to go through the bead, and even then it wouldn't be a real issue, you would just seal the holes. As suggested above, glue them, that's all they need.

I have a customer that's turning the tire on the rim - what do you use for glue?

Ours moved a bit when running 17psi...now we use 20psi and has not moved since. I don't know about any glue myself.

Mount the tires on the rim. Before airing them up and setting the bead, wipe the bead and rim with brake cleaner. Brush Permatex High Tack on the bead of the tire and rim. ALLOW IT TO SET UP/TACK BEFORE YOU INFLATE THE TIRE AND SET THE BEAD!! There may be other ways, but I know this has been working well on a stock suspension, twin turbo big block mustang that runs 4.20's with a 275 drag radial, so should work just fine for a stocker.

I would remove tire from wheel and remove any raised portion of the wheel where the screws went through. When the tire slips on the wheel it will be smooth and not cut the tire in the bead area. Ask them to use water to install tire on wheel instead of the tire soap.

Bobby I had screwsin my radials on my hot rod car a few years ago, tire was slipping using a trans brake. I ran several sets like that without any issue at all, not saying it might not be a problem but I never had one.

clean the wheel's and tire's bead with acetone then mount them DRY, no nothing and they won't move! Been running radial slicks for 15 years, 30/10.5 and 32/13.5. sixty footing as quick as 1.17 in the Firebird to the left without issue.
