Default Ls1 engine block options

Need help l am new to this particular combination. I the process of building Ls1 engine for stock Elin. Don't know which block to use . ARE the successful guys using original alum. Block or doing something else? With the current over bore rule , I'm really scratching my head.

Aluminum block (LS1 or 2) with Darton sleeves. You can use the iron block as well
