Wow,, a Z-16,, what a rare car, even back then,, and a lady gearjammer, interesting. I didn't see any mention of her in Doug Boyce's Junior Stock book. This is the first time I've seen or heard of this car and driver. I notice the tow bar brackets on the bumper,,, that must've been fun,,, I had a few "adventures" flat towing back in the early '70s,, didn't take long to decide to get a trailer. Nice photo, Paul.

January 1968 "Super Stock Meet' at Lions Dragway (California)
Betty Walker (Irwindale, California) was running her 65' Chevelle Malibu SS396 "Z-16" in SS/E, and made it to the Semi-Finals in Super Stock Eliminator. She ran low-low 12.00's @ 120 MPH back in 1967 (SS/D) and 1968 (SS/E). ![]() Last edited by Paul Ceasrine; 04-09-2013 at 07:38 AM. |
