Default RIP Andy Hambright, NHRA Div 2 Tech

Just received a phone call with not so good news. A great person, and a wonderful coworker of mine passed this morning. NHRA Div 2 Tech inspector Andy Hambright.

Details are pending.

Samuel Anderson "Andy" Hambright, Jr., 68, 1399 E. Cherokee Street, Blacksburg, went home to be with the Lord, December 11, 2012, at home. The husband of Patricia Queen Hambright, he is the son of S. A. and Elizabeth Nolen Hambright, Sr. of Blacksburg, SC. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Grover and was retired from Regional Utilities of Spartanburg.

In addition to his wife, Patsy, and his parents, he is survived by two sons - Samuel A. "Skip" Hambright, III, of Blacksburg, and Chris Moore and wife, Courtney, of Six Mile, SC; two daughters - Sharon Barrett and husband, Matthew, of Sauk City, WI, and Patricia Willis and husband, Lee, of Blacksburg, SC; five grandchildren - Elizabeth Barrett of Sauk City, WI, Kasi Jolly of Spartanburg, Jerrod Willis and Jacob Willis of Blacksburg, and Charlotte Moore of Six Mile, SC; and three sisters - Lynn Davis of Shelby, NC, Carol Price of Blacksburg, SC, and Karen Moss of Spartanburg, SC.

The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6-8:00 PM at Broad River Baptist Church, Blacksburg. A Celebration Of Life Service will be held Friday, December 14, 2012, 3:00 PM, at First Baptist Church of Grover with Dr. Paul Sorrells, Dr. John Barnhardt and Dr. Dennis Willoughby officiating. Burial will follow at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery, Blacksburg. At other times, the family will be at the home.


Active Pallbearers serving are Nathan Price, Mark McDaniel, Mike Grigg, Darrell Love, Richard Keesley and Marty Davis. Honorary Pallbearers serving are Jimmy Stahl, Ronald Queen, Quain Stott, Grady Childers, Donn Newman and Rusty Cabiness.

Memorials may be made to Racers For Christ, PO Box 1208, Gilbert, AZ, 85299.
