Default Theoretical Dime Rocket question

Just trolling for ideas and suggestions, let's say you wanted to build a Dime Rocket, but
a) has to run well at higher elevation (most tracks in the area 3000-5000ft) and
b) prefer automatic transmission

Given those two parameters, what would you recommmend?

I have a project I gave up on and may reclaim, plus another option in my grasp, but just in case they won't do, looking for ideas...

The 1994 Mustang 5.0 looks like a good combo.

In P/SA it has to weigh 3578 lbs with driver. 13.45 index.

If I upgrade my '95 Pure Stocker this winter it will become a '94 P/SA car.

Turbo something. Look for Buick or Pontiac if you want RWD or Mopar if you want FWD.
