can use flat or dimple flat will add comp.,but you still have hold the min. cc or more in chamber. any angle is legal, can unshroud chamber to head gasket. can cut bowls to somewhere close to depth of valve guide, BUT this cutting has to be done using valve guide as center using valve guide seat machine. Also cc runners some will check to big out the junkyard.
call me if you want Phil I'm better at talking than typing 606 278 0601 Mike Taylor 3601 |

Philbilly Your in good company, pay attention to what Mike has to say. I would get him to do your parts if you are close enough, you wont go wrong ! You can avoid losing another engine.

Looks like the guide shows 54.9 cc's for the combustion chamber if I'm looking at it right.

shubeck now smith lifters have diamond hard bottoms (some kind ceramic)on them can run more spring pressure don't have to break-in and can be used on another cam they are somewhere around 750.00 Precision perf. products in NC. have tool steel made for NHRA are around 475.00 can use about 425lbs max spring pressure.
You can check lifters with straight edge hold up to light should see lifter crowned in center if check with dial indicator center needs at least .001 crown in center If you had bearing trouble cam and lifters could have material embedded and will eat lobes up fast can send in and have refinished and redo the parkerize(the black finish on lobes) Also Smith's and PPPC lifters have extra travel removed plungers just move .015 mininium allowed Mike Taylor3601 |
