Hey guys......I will be at Indy on Thursday and Friday with my dad and younger brothers. We come every year on Thurs & Fri (sometimes Sat)from Illinois, we really enjoy watching the class run-offs, the Hemi Challenge, etc. We are racers ourselves, but we are not NHRA class legal, so we just spectate.
Long story short, my old man broke his hip on his mail route this past winter. He's much better, but he still isn't walking the greatest...I'm wondering if someone would be willing to let us rent a golf cart in there name, since you have to show your credentials to the outfit that rents them. I am not looking for it for free, just someone to help me get signed up for it... I actually asked someone from Dave Wertman's crew (Jerry) to do it for me last year, he did and it worked out fine. Last year was out of laziness, this year is more of a necessity ![]() I have a call into Wes Collier (track manager at IRP) to see if he'll call the place that rents them to make it happen. In the event I don't get a call back, can someone meet us 1st thing on Thurs/Fri to get it set up? We get to the gates as soon as they open - 7am - so you won't have to wait around. Thanks for the help.......Jeff |

Jeff, I broke my foot last year and unfortunately McCormack couldn't rent a cart to someone who isn't racing because we all know that there would be more carts than people which would make traffic hell in and around the pits. I found the folks driving the the taxi carts very helpful getting me around. Just go to the ticket booth and they will call you a ride to the stand, or better rent a wheelchair and get around with you boy's pushing your father around. Asking someone to rent a cart for you is asking quite a lot. Good luck. Claude

Look around your area for a business that sells the little 3 and 4 wheel battery powered chairs for the handicapped, often they will rent some of them out.

It was a fairly painless procedure, as the companies would deliver to an airport, hotel, or facility. |

Contact NHRA and ask them what is the best solution for your dad.
