i'm thinking about getting something like this to focus on the last yellow. any suggestions how to build? how to mount? will they let you pull your car up to the line to get it intial set up? does it need to be adjustable for different tracks?

Mine are zip-tied to the front tube of the roll cage. I rotate them up out of view when not in use. My local track let me set them up during track prep on a TNT night. Hopefully the people running your local track are as great as the people here.
I have one for each lane. I roll the one I need down after the water box. Back up soon as I hit the return road.

acme, put "blinder" in the search function found on the forum toolbar, you'll see lots of good threads. I'll withhold my opinion, to each his own.

i have tried the blinders and have made a few sets ,,,, in doing so the results have been inconsistant(had great lights and been dead late ) ,,when your blinding you are on the trigger and any light that might creep thru will make you react,(going red) or get distracted for milisecond and the result is way late ,,,dan fletcher can do both with great results ,,,try it ,,i did and was great and real late ,, just my 2 cents gmonde

I heard several years ago, that Dave Young used several covers off of phone books for blockers, they reportedly worked very well!!!!!

Take your family car thats in good shape, and practice with the visor.... Back to back blocking and not blocking and you will see the difference if any. .then you will know if its for you or not.....I block with the 4-runner in street.....can't block with the 6 speed FWD mini too much going on......getting the boost up, etc. If you don't stage exactly the same way every time, you can and will go red if you have a fast reacting car and decent reaction times.....yes even 6clyd gremlins are quick enough to block and still go red.
