Red face Big Block intake ?

I just bought a BB this weekend it's a 72 402 ....I got this intake with it & I have no idea what it's for. #'s are 340218 it's a cast iron Q-jet intake.

It comes up 73-76 454 car. Are both intake ports the same size, it probably has a egr valve provision. What are the cyl. head #'s. gsa612

The '72 402/454 intake has the # 6263753. That other one might be a later truck intake. Trucks with 454's and over a certain weight didn't have EGR.Not legal on a 72 stocker.What number are the heads on this engine you bought?

The heads are 292 ...the #s on the block check out as 72-402. njk53 I'm going to do the short block as a stocker but no I'm going to make it a Street / Strip engine only with a hyd roller cam & non stocker ring package. BTW intake has no EGR

The stock intake manifold for the 71-72 402CI engine is a power robber. Any intake besides the stock unit has got to be better. The 71 head, don't remember the casting number, is also better than the 72 if you are going with the stock iron head.
