I have an unmarked 12 bolt pinion gear with no pinion depth (as shown on Richmond gears normally)....is there a standard pinion depth dimension for GM 12 bolt gears ??? Any help out there ???

Start with an 0.035" shim between the pinion gear and the bearing.
There is no standard depth, as depth is the opinion of the operator who runs the gears on a Gleason machine. If there is no backlash spec given, start with 0.008".

Check with T & D products they have a great pinion depth setting tool kit. In that kit are instructions on how to measure the depth on a stock style gear set that does not have the needed information. I have the kit and use it regularly it is a great tool.
