"Live" from the ASRA Shootout and race #6
The shootout is in the books and Marc LaBrecque bested Tom Boucher in the final of the 16 car event. Truely the best shootout race we ever had, all the qualified racers made it and there was great racing all day. Not a cloud in the sky all day at Lebanon Valley, and more of the same is on tap for tommorrow at our 6th and final race of the season. There is already at least one racer that made it here from Maple Grove and more are due for tommorrow's race. there are many stock and super stock cars already here today that tested and we expect a good turnout tommorrow. All stock and super stock racers are welcome at ASRA events, you do not need to be a member of ASRA.
There is an increased purse for members tommorrow. Well, time to join the celebration over at the Diamond RV compound, hope to see you at tommorrow's race

Re: "Live" from the ASRA Shootout and race #6
There was a "race within the race" between Bob"Hollywood" Horgan and Aj Martel behind the wheel of Dean Ribeiro's Firebird. Best 2 out of 3 runs
After all the banter & between round "b#ll-busting AS Aj couldn't restart the car to make the pass...........Horgan made the "$olo" FTW! Qudos to "The Professor" Vic Santos, Bob "Hollywood" Horgan, Dean "Wheeler dealer" Ribeiro, BIG JIM Whitehead, Tom Boucher & "Da kid Aj Martel for the thrash to rebuild the water pump motor for tomorrows "Last Dance" Special Thanks to "Steady" Eddie McDevitt for preparing the late night Steak & Chicken feast for us! |

Re: "Live" from the ASRA Shootout and race #6
Good Morning, and it is a crystal clear one here at the "Valley", Currently the temp is a brisk 46 degrees and the baro is 29.7 .
Got the early morning report that Wayne and his track crew were scraping the track till 9 pm last night and are already out there grooming the surface this morning Tim Boudreau did a "double" yesterday, as he lost early at Maple Grove, trucked right up here to Lebanon and got in 2 time trials before the end of the day. That's the racer spirit Tim . I noticed he had a 10.28 dial from the grove, and he went 10.35 here, nice wheels up leave too. A lot of great bench racing and laughs last night all around the pit area, Large fire and cookout at the Markow/LaBrecque site, Celebrated Marc's win and it was also Al and Shirley Mark's 24 th anniversary. Also visited with Dan Lynch, Gene Monahan, George Mirza and the Stickles clan. Dan and Gene drove up from Maple Grove too. There many racers already here, my guess is we will have 60 plus for todays ASRA stock/super stock combo

Re: "Live" from the ASRA Shootout and race #6
We have just completed 1st rd, and we have a great field of 63 cars. Yesterdays SS champ at reading Joe Santangelo made the trip and won 1st rd. We had our best 50/50 raffle ever thanks to the sales skills of Joanne LaBrecque and Shirley Mark.
#1 qualifier was Jim Penta with a perfect .000 light in time trials. I managed a 1st rd runner up to Al Mark, but I will be staying a little while longer and try to post more results. 29.53 baro and an unusual 80 degrees, for october , usual Lebanon headwind, off and on light breeze
