IHRA stats "Minor movement inboard of rear springs is allowed for tire clearance." Can the 3" inboard movement of the typical Mopar spring relocation kit qualify as "minor movement " for stock eliminator? Thanks

I doubt that they will accept that much movement. They had the same rule in the AHRA and the only movement they allowed was just enough to clear the tire. I was allowed to move mine in about 1/2 an inch but no more.
Call them up and ask before you make any changes. JimR

No......Just enough to clear the side wall of the slicks that you use. Jim is correct.

Since IHRA allows a 10" slick for Stock the 3" inset gives the A body the space it needs.

Page 49 of the IHRA Rule Book under Suspension states minor movement inboard of rear springs is allowed for tire clearance. I think that 3 in.on both sides is more than minor. What is the NHRA rule?

If your gonna move it enough for a 10-10.5 inch tire, you will be into the frame section. If you move it one inch or three inches, it still requires the same amount of work. Also the same areas and components to be modified plus a half of a tub. ONLY ALLOWED IN CRATE MOTOR STOCK. I believe the intent is to allow you to put a 10-10.5 tire under the car properly and safely. And to do that you should have 13-14 inches of clean tire area. A Duster has about 14 inches give or take, from the quarter panel (wheel opening lip) to the frame flange (spot welded to the floor) and you will need it all to do it properly. Then you will need about a 2 inch extension to the wheel tub. The rule book says minor inward movement (how much is that) to me it's the minimum it takes needed for a 10 inch tire to have the safe tire/body clearence and no more. They said you could move it, and they said you could use a 10 inch tire. Do what you need to make that happen and no more. Having said all of that, the best way to do this is send photos to IHRA TECH DEPT. (Hank or Mike) of what you want to do and why...present your case, and you will be fine.
