Looking for some info on this setup sold by Folk Race Cars.
What's included in the kit? Where does it install? How do you adjust it? Thanks, George |

George,
The kit includes just the switch, and of course the schematics/instructions. It installs in the rear brake circuit, preferably close to the master cylinder. Two wire hook-up, 1 to the two-step and 1 to either 12 positive or negative, depending on your ignition system. It's recommended that a N/C switch be wired in the power circuit to prevent activation in high gear at the finish line. No adjustment really - pumping the brakes feeds power to the two step, let go of the brakes, hang on! I'm changing from a single- to a double circuit master cylinder, so this was a good time to plumb in a switch. Good Luck! Lew

George,
That's where I've seen it installed. It may not matter, except if you're using a chip on your burn-outs. Lew

George, I've heard of using a Volkswagen brake light switch, plumbed into the rear brake circuit for two-step activation. When it sees pressure it is activated (starting line), when there is no pressure (burnout) it's not activated.

Perhaps the Folk piece has provision for a high-gear cutout. Also says it's adjustable, what's the adjustment ?

Todd, It's a Normally/Closed switch - you don't want the pressure switch activating in high gear. The wiring schematic shows it better! There maybe an adjustment on it, although I haven't found it. I guess it would depend on what pressure you wanted the two-step to kick in. Lew
