I have heard of the MLS gaskets being reused, and I think solid copper gaskets can be reused.

Yes they can. Just clean everything up and put them back on.

Ed is wright, lol. They can be reused several times with no problems. Although, I dont know how many retorques is too much. I've reused them twice on 1 engine and 3 times on the other with no issues.

Thumbs up Re: Cometic head gaskets

I typically re-use them 3 times and then I set them on the shelf and wonder why I didn't use them a 4th time. LOL.

I use them 2-3 times. I clean them up, and spray them with Permatex Coppercoat.

I had a NOS equiped BB boat engine torch an ex valve and we fixed the seat, put in a new valve and touched the intake valve & seat then put the head back on with the same gasket. This happened in qualifying and he made the race the next day. I'm sure any other type of gasket would have been toast. I had a 540 Blown gas engine on the dyno and pulled the heads 3 times to work on them and reused the same gaskets. They are good.

I used a set 6 times on a 292, sprayed them with copper coat. Never blew one, but didn't have enough guts to try for seven. Depends on who and how your block and heads are finished also.
