converter, gear and suspension geometry. Although its pretty difficult to make one NOT hook. The first thing i would do is get rid of the glide for a TH-200 or 350. If the car is anywhere close to stock weight its needs more low gear. What rear gear is in it? If you still have the stock 10 bolt get rid of it because it will never go fast with one of those and live to tell the tale

You would need 200# in the FRONT to keep a combination like that off the rear bumper!
It really is hard to keep one of these off the bumper , something is wrong with your shocks ,or converter. I've had cars in my shop that had the rear suspension tearing out the bolt holes and brackets, and they still launched wheels up!

One problem is you do not have enough gear. If you have a SS roller cam, it is large and you will need more rear gear for it to work right, even with the 30 inch tires. The 488 is what most stockers run, not SS.

Besides needing more gear what is the stall on your converter ?
