92 Camaro Stocker Project.... Can I mount the fuel cell directly over carpet? I've seen it done, but would their be any "tech" issues? The cell extends through the floor. I also have the factory trunk/spare tire cover...Would this be legal?

I don't see any reason it wouldn't be legal. as long as the "firewall" is in place

Your going to spill no matter what. Do you want gas soaked carpet in your car, firewall or no?

Jeff has a good point about spilling, it will happen. Consider removing the carpet near the cell. Other than that I think the install is fine.

Today I trimmed the carpet that was anywhere near the fuel cell...Fuel gives me a headache anyways.
