Default Live from the Las Vegas Nationals

Hi there. We're here at the 22nd stop on the NHRA tour. Las Vegas is one of the best tracks on the NHRA circuit. Having said that, the racing surface isn't in very good shape right now. A lot of the Stockers spun and the Super Stockers spun even worse. There were a couple of near collisions and one Super Stock racer did cross the center line and hit another racer.

It was fairly cold this morning, it was 56 degrees when I made my run, but it has been cold here before and there hasn't been this many problems.

If you are here at the track feel free to reply to this thread and let us know about your experience with the track and anything else you would like to report.

I took a lot of pictures of the Super Stock cars and I will post them as soon as I get a chance.

They are running Super Gas right now. Super Stock will make their second hit next and their third qualifier will also be first round of class.

More to come ...

-Toby

Bruce Lippstreau hit Bob Earleywine. I just talked to Bruce about it. His car is making a lot more power than it used to and it's leaving a lot harder than before. He was in the left lane. He said it hooked real good and started drifting to the right a little during the wheel stand. When it came down, the right front tire hit the fender which blew it out and sent him into the right lane where he hit Bob in the left rear quarter. He said Bob's head hit the roll cage, but he is OK.

Here is a shot of Bruce's car:

wow, that sucks. Hope the damage was minimal to both cars and they can both repair and race.
