Yes, but if your car did not come with a lift off hood, you must still have the hood attached to the hinges , and have the factory hood latch .

Tom Is that in print anywhere? I was told no hood pins in 09 after an incident with a broken hood latch that nearly destroyed my car. I sure would like to add them |

I think Tom is saying you can'y use hood pins as an excuse to remove weight from the front of the car. I can't see any reason not to have hood pins if that is your choice but they would be there along with the rest of the hardware as factory equipped,. And of course some cars are factory equipped with hood pins, latches and hinges (like '70 Mustang & Shelby for example)

I added the pins for JIC. You never know when air will get under the hood somehow separating it from the latch.

not specifically in the rule book to my knowledge.
I was told by the Tech dept many years ago it was ok as long as the stock latch and hinges were retained . it can only be considered a safety improvement, especially at the speeds we're seeing in S/SS. A lot of the cars from the late 60's and early70's [like my and Jeffs AMX's] have so much hood in front of what is a realy wimpy latch, it just makes sense to use them .
