Default Truck Question

I bought a 2010 Dodge Ram 3500 mega cab with single rear tire and my truck seems to wheel hop. Especially if making left or right turns. It's has the 6.7 cummins diesel and auto trans. has anyone had this problem with the Ram or any other truck. I love the truck, i just thing it's a little odd. Luke SS 311

Luke that sounds a bit odd. Only my 78 lil red express with a detroit locker in the rear does it. But that has a he-man of a suregrip. Could it be a stuck/defective sure grip unit, or something with traction control? Might want to try and take the traction control off and see if it does the same thing. Warranty call is likely in order, especially for piece of mind if its the computer, etc.

Eric

If you have the 11.5" American Axle with code DSA antispin differential, they can be very agressive on turns, similar to a locker. ...It's a multi gear helix type differential.........I dont think your truck would have the 10.5" American Axle, due to the cab and diesel .....That axle does have a clutch and plate type differential that is very finicky about having it's gear lube and factory posi additive at about 20 k mile intervals. ....................Tom

Tom, my truck has the American Axle 11.5 rear with posi and yes it does act like my old 69 camaro after i rebuilt the posi unit. I love towing my 28 foot trailer and race car with this truck and i get good fuel economy too. thanks for the response. Luke SS 311

Eric, I don't think it has any rear end problems, but maybe as Tom Goldman stated about the type of sure-grip and how tight it act. I will keep an eye on it. Luke SS 311

Have had the same problems in the past local Dodge recommended using Kendall limited slip additive and it has helped.

My 2006 Mega 2500 chatters a little around tight corners. Nothing to worry about in my opinion. When it's wet, it will feel like the inside tire is trying to stayed locked up.

my 2007 dually with the 11.5 diff. does this, appears to be a normal characteristic of this differential.
