Angry ARC switch panel UGH!!!!

Have new ARC 3700 switch panel in new super stock car. Started car maybe 10 times. Now the starter switch works intermittently. Checked out and switch is bad. Call ARC, they wanted me to unwire the box and send it back for warranty. I ask if they could just send me the switch and I would solder it in. They said yea, as long as I paid for it! Bad part is, I changed a bad starter switch in my friends car a couple years ago and still bought one of these boxes. Anyone have this same issue with them? Who has the best panel out there? Customer service is lost these days!

I'll second that on the K&R wiring and switch panel. It's simply the best and easiest way to wire a car. I used it on Andrew's new car and plan on re-wiring my car this winter with the K&R stuff.

I have a OLD (almost antique) ARC panel and it's been flawless.

Could it be a ground problem?

Not a ground problem, isolated it to the switch. Can jumper around switch and works every time. Have heard of others having the same problem with the starter switch.

Bert,
Those switches are available for different load capicity.
Check with you local industrial electronics store. Step it up.
Been there done that.

Where exactly does the starter wire go to? Seems odd that any switch would fail with such minimal usage. I use the 8000 ARC panel, touch pad which just supplies a ground to activate the relay, works great and very nice to install. Maybe check to see how many anps you're sending thru this circuit, Adger is right the switch rating may not be up to the task. I've had good luck with ARC stuff heck a buddy of mine has had the same panel in his car for nearly 15 years. Joe
